Return of the Maca

Return of the Maca

Book excerpt

FROM THE AUTHOR:
Return of the Maca, Book 4 of the Chronicles of the Maca, was a story I knew I had to write.  The Maca had always planned to return to Thalia and reclaim it from the Justines and Krepyons once he learned to pilot the spaceship called the Golden One.

The beings on that planet had been chattering in my mind for years; the Kenning Woman and her laddie, Wee Da. The other ones called Abs like Jarvis, JayEll, Kahli, and Ki.  From the Houses, ot was Jolene, Ishmael and his sister, Issing, Lamar, Beatrice, Beauty, and Rocella.  It was a surprise when Rocella retreated and let others from the continent of Rurhran take over in telling the tale.

It was a difficult book to write though as Thalians have their own way of speaking.  I finally had to break it down to where the words and language would be more familiar to the reader.  Then I included an explanation and a Glossary for anyone that would be interested in pursuing their culture. Thalians are not Earth beings. They are Thalians with their own rituals, architect, and governing rules. Their system of a hereditary Maca would make no sense to people from the United States or most Earth countries, yet this was a world that had to be credible to all who visited.

Their rigid caste system under the rule of the Sisterhood, a House set up by the Justines is one of the things that Llewellyn, the returning Maca of Don and his mother, LouElla, set out to break. The Sisterhood will declare war and it is Jolene who has the means to save the Houses of Thalia. None know which way she will bend.
